At The Pediatric Place, we believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives. We also believe in the safety of our vaccines. Because of this, we believe that all children and young adults should receive all the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

With that being said, we will only accept patients that follow the required vaccine schedule noted below. Should you choose to follow an alternate schedule that deviates from the below schedule, we will not be able to accept you as a patient and/or you will be dismissed from the clinic.

The following is the Well Visit Schedule and the vaccines given at each visit.

Newborn – Hepatitis B (typically given in hospital before discharge)

2-4 days after hospital discharge (Newborn) – no vaccines

2-week visit – no vaccines

1 month – Hepatitis B

2 months – Pentacel (DTaP, Polio, Hib), Prevnar, Rotavirus

4 months – Pentacel (DTaP, Polio, Hib), Prevnar, Rotavirus

6 months – Pentacel, (DTaP, Polio, Hib), Prevnar, Rotavirus        

9 months – Hepatitis B

12 months – Chickenpox (varicella), Prevnar, Hib – MUST be 1 year old for this checkup

15 months – MMR, Hepatitis A

18 months – DTaP

2 years old – Hepatitis A                                               

2 ½ year old – no required vaccines

3 years old – no required vaccines

4 years old – DTaP, MMR, Polio, Chickenpox(varicella) – MUST be 4 to receive these vaccines

5,6,7,8,9,10 years old – yearly checkups are recommended – no required vaccines at these ages

11 years old – Tdap, Meningitis vaccine – MUST be 11 to receive these vaccines

          (HPV is recommended – if not given at 11 – will recommend HPV at future visits)

12,13,14,15 years old – yearly checkups – no required vaccines

16 years old – Meningitis #2 – MUST be 16 to receive this vaccine

Flu vaccine (seasonal) – for 6 months and up (strongly recommended)
